Magandang araw! (Good day!)

I come from the Philippines, a tropical country made up of 7,107 islands, more during low tide. =) I have lived near the sea all my life and living in Ames is the first time I'll be landlocked; but thank God for swimming pools.

My interest is in science and enironmental communication. I get to practice my field in a fun way by doing environmental education activities with kids and youth. Have a great day! Salamat. (Thanks).

Hello, Professor Dimitrova and every member of the JLMC 574

My name is Chen Ko-Jung, twenty-six year old. You can pronounce my name as "Cologne"(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cologne), one of famous cities of Germany, or you can call me"clone" as long as these two words could help you to memorize my name.
I come from Taiwan(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIBshbaha9U) which combine Chinese traditional culture with new west idea and the conflict between liberalism and conservatism, innovations and traditions of thought, has nurtured me. I have developed into an energetic and optimistic individual who is always and inspired by new things around me.
I was majoring in Mass Communication in university the courses were arranged around the theory and practice of four major areas of the media: newspapers, TV, radio and magazines. During my internship in my junior, I worked as an editor and reporter on an on-line news website, learning how to apply modern new internet technology. Furthermore, I also work on my thesis, A study of evaluation on quality of TV websites – a case study on Cti TV and Era TV websites, related to internet technology. Therefore, I choose to take this class not only I'm eager to learn new idea and technology but also I think that the new communication technology is the trend of future media. I’m looking forward to embracing new theory and different experience by class members in this semester.
By the way, hope you don’t mind my bad English and strange accent, but I am willing to exchange my idea and experience with yours. If there is any thing you can use my help or you want to talk with, I always have time for you all. The following is my contact information.

Hello everyone.

My name is Xiaomin Qian. You can call me Xiaomin. I come from China. My family name "Qian" means money in Chinese language. Actually, this is a title for a government officer in the old times.

My undergraduate major is Chinese language and literature. After graduation, I worked as an economic journalist in Xinhua News Agency for two years. Then I married. Because my husband came to the US for his Ph.D study, I gave up my job and followed him. On the other hand, this is also a chance for me to continue my academic study and pursue a master's degree in journalism. I plan to back to China later and become a professional journalist with what I learnt here.

Cooking is one of my interests. I learnt how to make cheese cake, how to bake pizza when I come to Ames. You can come to my home and have a taste. Everybody is welcome.
